Midterms and skating

I had my first midterm for this period, and it went allright. I’m pretty sure I passed this one! I was out pretty early so I went for a skate in Rotterdam… woohoo I still can kinda skate!

Learning and studying

This week are my midterms, so I’ll be learning all week (not).

Learning

This week are my midterms, so I’ll be learning all week (not). It’s soo hard to concentrate when (attempting ^_^) to learn! Oh well, I have to do it… it’s for the better…

Media

The media focussing on lunar new year is already passed, but now St. Valentine’s Day is coming. The stores are already all red with gifts with the shape of a heart or just red roses. The assortment of postcards, to be sent to your (secret?) love (anonymously?), grow every year as well. Television shows and movies with that same theme… sweet huh? I know it’s still over a fortnight away, but do you people already know what you’ll be doing on February 14? Anyway I have a few midterms coming up this week, so I should be off learning I guess… bye!

Tiger

Okay, then why do I think Crouching Tiger is such a good movie? I’d like to mention first that, behind the scenes, the fight scenes were done by Wu Ping–the same guy behind the fight scenes in the Matrix. So if you like the martial arts, you’ll love this movie. But besides all the fighting, there is the beautiful scenery of China and the Forbidden City… and there’s the story, of course. I think the story is like a dream, a fantasy… kind of like a fearie tale. Plus it has all the basic elements in it: action, humor, romance… the story isn’t complicated, but it’s not a simple story either… I loved it. I guess that was my review for CTHD… you probably already noticed that I didn’t do anything special today, so there.

Dragon

The movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is now officially out in the Netherlands now, at the international film festival. Too bad it’s playing only three times this week, and of course all is sold out :(. Grr some people can’t just think.. I mean.. this is a major film!! They should release it in all cinemas here! It’s one of the best movies ever… I guess I’ll wait for it to be on DVD ^_^

Poetry

Today is national poetry day! And maybe you already know, but I have some poetry of my own (just click through my site). This school period is finally getting to an end, the project is almost finished, woohoo! :)

New Year

Happy New Year! Huh again? Yeah, today is Chinese new year! So keep the dragondances and firecrackers coming today, in the year of the snake.

Snow

There is some pretty heavy snowfall here. After the weekly Chinese lessons I have, I went walking around in Rotterdam, where you here and there see people posing and making pictures, pretty amusing. I also stepped in a bookstore, where I bought books on drawing for beginners and photography techniques, so next time I can make better pictures of people in snow? :)
