Awesome nature
Last few weeks the flower shops have been selling tulips more and more.
These pink tulips were awesome.
They almost died. Too early.
After a hot day, I forgot to water them.
Then the next day, all of the tulips were hanging, thirsty, weak.
After giving them some fresh water, and some time, the tulips grew back.
It amazed me how resilient nature is.
How awesome nature is.

I love all those flowers sprouting up.
Does anyone know the name of this flower?

Winter Accessories
This is the last picture in the series Abandoned in the City.
I hope you all liked it.
And I hope you will look at all those lost gloves, hats and mittens in a different way.
Make a picture of those lost ones for me, okay?

This girl on the right was looking at a poster at the wall.
So no, this bicycle isn’t hers.
And apparently, the mitten isn’t hers either.
So whose is it?
The mystery still is unsolved.

I found there to be more gloves than hats.
I found it surprising that there were more gloves than broken umbrella’s.
So it’s officially spring.
But still I see so many abandoned gloves.
A couple of days ago, Dutch Bloggies 2007 awards were awarded to miscellaneous sites. The photoblog that won seriously sucked. Someone should remind me to submit my site next year. And all of you can vote for me

Winter Accessories
A few months ago I lost one of my winter gloves.
I figured it’d be a waste keeping the other one.
So I threw it out.
A couple of weeks later, when walking by a reception desk…
Guess what?
My lost glove was pinned on the wall together with a few other lost items.
But I guess this only happens when you already threw out the other one.
(Note: this winter hat isn’t mine.

I’m still taking you on a wonderful short tour through Paris.
Enjoy this view of the Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris at the Seine river.
I sure enjoyed it. The real thing looks even better.
Theo van Eijden passed away
Professor Theo MGJ van Eijden passed away on 28 February 2007.
My sincere condolences go out to his wife, children, grandchildren. To his family, friends, co-workers. Theo van Eijden was the professor at the Functional Anatomy department where I spent the last few months as part of my study. At the beginning of that period, he was still present at the department for a few (half) days in the week. As his illness progressed, he later only visited occasionally in December. But when he did visit, he was always cheerful, happy. If his mood would’ve been otherwise, it wouldn’t have been him.
And aside from his work, and all his published articles, his cheerfulness was known amongst us (the students). And in that alone, he was always very inspiring. To me, to everyone.
Like a lot of people, I didn’t expect to hear this.
Not this soon, anyway.
Theo, you were awesome.
