Louvre (2)

Taken: 4 February 2007, Paris, France.

It happened to be the first Sunday of the month, so entrance to the museum was free. And there was a huge line. Huge. At the entrance, all of our bags were X-rayed. Once in the museum (and not in the main hallway), it amazed me that, even with the big amount of people, the museum wasn’t packed.

Okay some rooms were full of people (e.g. the room with the Mona Lisa). But other than that, it didn’t seem overcrowded.

That’s just how huge the Louvre museum is.

Spookie: Yes, that was a line, and I was actually standing in line too.
Steph: Nope, I didn’t know it was 8 miles long, although I knew it was huge.
Jen: The line actually moved pretty fast, to our surprise.

Arc de Triomphe (3)

Taken: 3 February 2007, Place Charles de Gaulle, Paris, France.

Place Charles de Gaulle.
Without cars.
But with the Arc de Triomphe.

If you’ve ever visited the Arc de Triomphe at Place Charles de Gaulle in Paris, have you ever seen it like this? The square completely empty, devoid of cars? I think this monument looks even more amazing without all the traffic. What do you think?

Reaction on the comments: As most of you may have already guessed, this picture is a bit of a trick image. It was actually composed out of several (about 5-7) pictures. So, no, the place wasn’t empty. Just bits and pieces here and there.

Another picture of the Arc de Triomphe.
The Place Charles de Gaulle square is always full of cars.
Wonder how it looks without any cars?
Stay tuned…

Here’s the famous Arc de triomphe.
I didn’t go up, but only took pictures from beneath it, and around it.

And after the cool spring pictures, we return to our tour through Europe. Yes, this is La Tour Eiffel / The Eiffel Tower.

In my head, I always pictured the tower to be gray, even if I visited it before (many years ago). But yes, it’s brownish.
